Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Is the commercial electricity rate higher than domestic in MEPCO?
A: Yes. Commercial connections pay higher per-unit rates and do not receive the Protected Consumer subsidy.
Q: Can I change my commercial connection to domestic?
A: Only if the connection is genuinely used for residential purposes. Apply to your MEPCO Sub-Division office with supporting documents.
Q: My shop is in my home. Which tariff applies?
A: If the connection serves the residential portion, domestic tariff applies. A separate commercial connection for the shop uses commercial tariff.
